first_img Jim Rutenberg, media columnist, The New York Times After jumping 72 percent last year to $119 million, advertising revenues from podcasts are set to nearly double over the course of 2017, according to a new study conducted by PwC for the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). While direct response ads, long the bread-and-butter of podcast funding, continue to drive the vast majority of revenues (73 percent), brand awareness and branded content ads are slowly gaining, accounting for the remaining 27 percent of revenues in 2016, up from 17 percent in 2015. Sensex climbs 200 points Nifty reaches 11400 as banking stocks rise

Law minister says meets CJ Sinha

first_imgChief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha and Law minister Anisul HuqLaw minister Anisul Huq on Thursday said he visited chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha at his Hare Road official residence and inquired about Sinha’s health.”I visited him (the chief justice). He’s taking rest,” Anisul Huq told Prothom Alo.Asked about reports of the CJ’s visa application for going to Australia, Anisul said, “I had no talks with him over this and asked him nothing in this connection.”A source close to the minister said he entered the CJ’s Hare Road house around 4:00pm and stayed there for around half an hour.Anisul Huq told the media on Sunday that the chief justice went on a one-month leave beginning on Monday on health grounds.On Thursday noon, Anisul had a meeting with the acting chief justice, Md Abdul Wahhab Miah, for around an hour.About that meeting, Anisul said, “It’s a courtesy meeting. I assured him of my full cooperation.”The chief justice was vehemently criticised by the ministers and the ruling party leaders for his observations made in the verdict that had annulled the 16th amendment to the constitution.Sinha assumed office on 17 January, 2015 as the country’s 21st chief justice.
