first_imgPIRAEUS – The surging Olympiakos basketball team finished the Euroleague’s first group stage with a 5-0 record, taking apart Turkey’s Galatasaray 93-66 on Nov. 13.The Reds led from start to finish against the Istanbul-based team that showed little interest in competing while the Greek team rolled its opponent easily.The win was the home debut of coach Yiannis Sfairopoulos in the Euroleague before 8,000 fans in a game that showed Olympiakos putting up some sensational plays.The winners opened fast, taking a 26-13 first period lead before the Turkish team rallied to close it to 49-39 at the half but the game was already out of reach.Olympiakos then turned on the gas and ran away to a 93-65 lead. Othello Hunter scored 17 points and took down 10 rebounds for the victors.On Nov. 12, PAOK thrashed Montenegro’s Buducnost 80-60 for its fourth win in five Eurocup group games.TweetPinShare0 Shareslast_img
