This move the Prime Minister Skerrit said wasn’t necessary. He told the official opening of the newly refurbished health center in Ans de Mai on Thursday night that residence must be reasonable in their demands to government. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit“Government is spending $33 million in Pointe Michel building a sea wall ad a new road, and men and women are demonstrating for a few pots holes in the road. What message are we sending to our children? I am the prime minister of the country and if you drive to my home in Morne Bruce you will see port holes in the roads. If you come to where I live, the house is infested with termites. In some rooms there is no electricity because of electricity problems. Some of the taps cannot close because there are problems. This is the prime minister home. Sometimes in Vieille Case I have to take a bath from the little Loubiere Spring Water bottle because of no water,” he said. The prime minister has asked Dominicans to remain patient, as his government is making every effort to alleviate the living conditions and lives of its citizens.“We have to be grateful for what is happening in this country. We cannot curse the darkness instead of lighting a candle. We have to be thankful for the major projects that are happening”.He also suggested that citizens can assist by getting together and “blocking the holes”.According to him, the bus drivers have “denied the children from going to school for some foolishness”.The prime minister also questioned whether he should have stopped the ongoing project in Pointe Michel and fixed the roads instead.Dominica Vibes Newslast_img
