OWEGO (WBNG) — The Riverview Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Owego has been identified as a COVID-19 hotspot. In a news release, Public Health Director Lisa McCafferty noted the nursing home is working closely with the health department as the situation unfolds. She notes staff is being tested on a weekly basis. The Tioga County Health Department says “numerous” staff and residents have tested positive for COVID-19. The department reported that the virus has taken the lives of two Riverview residents. The department says Riverview is in communication with the families of its residents.
