Assistant Coach Todd Alexander gave credit to the Navigators for a solid game but was also not happy with the effort put out by the Huskies.“Hats off to them, they played a solid game tonight. Their systems were awesome; their structure was really good. I think that was probably a good look at one of their best games that they’ve played as a group this year,” he explains, “I don’t know so much if it was just them taking the things away from us that we were struggling with tonight or if it was to do with our effort and our structure and our game that we were playing tonight. It was not our best effort by far.”One of the bright spots in the sloppy loss was the play of goaltender Daimon Derouin. Alexander says the effort put forth by him may have been the best effort between the pipes all season.- Advertisement -“That’s probably our best goaltending performance so far this season and we wasted a good one. He held us in there; he made some really big saves,” he says. “They had lots of scoring opportunities right on top of him in the slot, and I think that his game was solid tonight. We had one player for sure that played excellent tonight.”Scoring for the Huskies was Daylen Pearson and Owen Barker got the assist.Daimon Derouin turned aside 33 of 35 shots. The third goal was scored into an empty net.Advertisement Next for the Huskies is a trip out to Fairview to battle the Flyers on December 6. The game can be heard on Moose FM with the pregame show starting at 8:15, and the opening faceoff to follow at 8:30.. The next home game comes the following day against the Slave Lake Wolves at 8 p.m.
