It’s a gathering of 150,000 people decked out in red, white and blue, celebrating in a family-friendly atmosphere, enjoying music, food and an incredible fireworks show. For many families, Red Hot & Boom is an annual tradition where everyone can make memories, spend quality time with one another and celebrate the true spirit of America.The HotThe event hosts FREE family-friendly entertainment featuring internationally-known musical talent powered by XL 106.7 FM. The first act takes the stage at 4 p.m. and the music continues after the fireworks show.Featured artists this year include:AJR – The Met brothers, Adam, Jack and Ryan, are selling out venues on the first leg of their “What Everyone’s Thinking” tour.Austin Mahone – This 21-year-old is currently on his third national tour and recently signed on as the face of the Fossil brand.Hey Violet – This pop-punk band plays their recently-released second album, “From the Outside” as part of their nationwide tour.James Arthur – This British singer won the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012. His hit single, “Say You Won’t Let Go” is currently No. 11 on The Hot 100 Billboard chart.Why Don’t We – Each of the five members of this pop band were successful singer/songwriters on their own; now they’ve teamed up to perform together and are now hitting the road for a 20-city North American tour.Drey-C – A frequent performer at Disney Springs, this Brazilian-born singer and Orlando resident has released 8 albums and is known for his high-energy performances.Hey VioletThe BoomRed Hot & Boom is famous for its jaw-dropping fireworks – and this year is no different.“We spend months planning our show and take pride in the fact that we put on a fireworks display that competes with any other in Florida,” said Jerry Sullivan, Director of Events for the City of Altamonte Springs. Guests will “ooh” and “ahh” during the 25-minute show, which features advanced pyrotechnics choreographed to both today’s hits and old favorites – all on the beautiful Cranes Roost Park waterfront.The celebration starts at 4 p.m. An early arrival is suggested for people who want to stake out a prime spot.
